Lost Important Files?

Losing your files is a sick feeling. Maybe your hard drive died and years of family photos are gone. Maybe you deleted a folder of important documents by mistake. Or maybe your computer won't boot and you have no idea if your files are still in there.

Here's the good news. A lot of the time, those files aren't really gone. When a drive fails or a file gets deleted, the data often sits on the disk until something writes over it. The faster you act, the better your odds of getting it back.

ART Computer does on-site data recovery across Solano County. We come to your home, look at the drive, and tell you honestly what we can get back. You only pay if we actually recover your files.

What's Included

We handle a wide range of storage failures and data loss. We use professional recovery tools to pull your files off damaged or failing drives. We always check things first and give you a clear picture of what we can get back before we start any recovery.

Some drives have heavy physical damage, like clicking or grinding noises. For those, we can point you to a clean-room recovery facility if that's what it needs. We'll always be straight with you about what we can and can't do.

Frequently Asked Questions

My hard drive is making clicking noises. Can you recover the data?

Sometimes, yes. Clicking usually means a mechanical part inside the drive has failed. In some cases we can still pull the data off with special software. But if the damage is bad, the drive may need clean-room recovery at a specialized facility. We'll look at it and give you an honest recommendation. One important thing. If your drive is clicking, stop using it right away so it doesn't get worse.

I accidentally deleted files from my computer. Can they be recovered?

Often, yes. When you delete a file, the data usually stays on the disk until something writes over it. The trick is to stop using that drive as soon as you can. Don't install new programs or save new files to it. Call us right away and we'll come take a look. The sooner we start, the better your chances of getting everything back.

Can you recover data from an SSD?

Sometimes, yes. SSDs are harder than regular hard drives because of how they manage data inside (a process called TRIM). Still, recovery often works, especially when the drive failed instead of the files being deleted. We'll look at your situation and tell you what's possible before you commit to anything.

How long does data recovery take?

It depends. The type of problem, how bad it is, the size of the drive, and how much data we're pulling all matter. A simple recovery from a deleted file can take an hour or two. A failing drive can take longer. We'll give you a real time estimate while we look at it, so you know what to expect.
